Sylvia has worked in the leisure and hospitality sector for 24 years, leading numerous initiatives over that time. She believes in the power of partnerships, fostered through running the first ever BID dedicated to the licensed trade.

She has worked with towns and cities across the UK to write night time economy strategies, achieve Purple Flag status, review policies, set up Best Bar None schemes and enthusiastically leads the Six Till Six team to create unique solutions to local issues.

Sylvia is regularly invited to take part in seminars, panels and workshops for organisations such as the Home Office, the ATCM and the Institute of Licensing. She has written for key industry publications and is a member of the National Licensing Forum and the Local Alcohol Partnerships Group. Her significant support to the hospitality sector was recognised in 2024 when Sylvia was made a Companion of the British Institute of Innkeeping.

Iwona has worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years. She has extensive experience in managing venues, as an area manager as well as project delivery. She has worked within Business Crime Reduction Partnerships, is a Purple Flag assessor, has helped set up Best Bar None Schemes, supported the successful delivery of pubwatch schemes and was a founding member of the very first night time economy partnership group, in Nottingham.

Her extensive experience across both the private and public sector means that she brings a nuanced approach to our clients, understanding issues from all perspectives. Iwona is a board member of the National Association of Business Crime Reduction Partnerships and a director of the Ask for Angela Community Interest Company.

Isaac has worked in the hospitality industry since 2014 and has a keen interest in this sector. A Politics and Economics graduate from Aston University, Isaac’s undergraduate dissertation focussed on trade union membership in the hospitality industry, gig economy and education sector.

For his university placement Isaac worked on a sustainable branding strategy for the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, providing experience in working with a range of clients and stakeholders in a politically sensitive environment.

Isaac works on a broad range of projects for us and brings a curiosity and fascination for research in this area. Since joining Six Till Six in 2021 as a Projects Officer, Isaac has gone on to become one of our Senior Projects Officers working closely with clients including the Greater London Authority, Westminster City Council and Greater Manchester Combined Authority amongst others.

Helen has a BA (Hons) degree in business studies, awarded by Nottingham Trent University Business School in 2001.  She has extensive experience of financial project management, having worked as a project coordinator for the International Mining Corporation (IMC), overseeing budgets for the European Commission on regeneration projects based in the Caspian Sea regions.  Helen also spent 12 years with E.ON Energy/Uniper Ltd., working as Assistant Management Accountant, producing financial reports and monitoring internal budgets across the UK business.

Within Six Till Six, Helen provides the purchase and sales ledger function, as well as assisting with financial reporting and forecasting.  Helen also supports the Best Bar None project as an administrator, answering queries and supporting the regional and central schemes.  Helen also provides administrative support to colleagues in the business where required.

Grace graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2024, with a BA(Hons) degree in public relations, journalism and media with focuses on content creation, client management and PR skills. She gained more experience in content creation outside of university from writing for ‘Gen-Z’ focused magazine ‘Trill Mag’ and interviewing the likes of Geri Halliwell-Horner.

She has also worked in the hospitality industry since 2019, primarily in bars and pubs. This has led her to foster a passionate interest in supporting a safe and exciting nightlife which she is thrilled to be doing within our team.

Grace is assisting with both the Best Bar None and Ask for Angela initiatives via project support, research and initiative involvement. She is also supporting social media, marketing, PR and other communication activities including client and office communications.

Cat has been working with the licensed trade, police, local authorities, stakeholders, and voluntary groups for over 20 years. For the last 11 years she has managed the Plymouth Best Bar None scheme, and is a scheme assessor, Personal Licence Trainer and is the Purple Flag Coordinator for the city. She has a wealth of experience in identifying and resolving problems and issues in the ENTE.

She is passionate about, and experienced in, partnership working and has seen the benefits strong working relationships bring to delivering a safe, vibrant, and successful evening and night time economy.

Dave is our data and performance specialist. He has over 17 years’ experience of police and local authority data, working with authorities and forces across the country, helping them realise the potential of their data through efficient, accurate and timely data collection coupled with innovative reporting solutions.

His range of technical expertise includes advanced Excel, SQL, SQL Server Reporting Studio (SSRS) and Power BI. He can analyse multiple complex datasets and translate them into easy-to-understand insights, along with practical recommendations using logical thinking to drive positive change, such as reduction in violence or ASB, best use of reduced resources or opportunities to save time and money.

Dave provides us and our clients with specialist advice on objective setting and on which data to collect and analyse, producing bespoke, insightful KPI dashboards that enable effective measurement of local activity, best use of available resources and the identification of future trends.

Alistair trained as a town planner and urban researcher and is the founder of MAKE, the night-time city consultants. He created the first night-time strategy in 1995 for Leeds and has since completed over 100 projects worldwide to improve cities ‘after dark’.

His recent high-profile projects include co-writing a chapter of The Global Night-time Recovery Plan, working with Six Till Six on a two-year Business Friendly Licensing and Regulation project for the London Night Tsar & GLA 24-hour London Team and helping Dublin develop its first night-time strategy. His relevant skills include qualitative and quantitative research, urban design and night-time economics. www.makeassociates.com.

Alistair advises the New South Wales Government on its new Purple Flag scheme and assesses NSW PF applications. He has also created the new PF consumer survey and works with a variety of clients undertaking Cumulative Impact research and bespoke economic impact studies.

Jayne West FRSA is a senior consultant and practitioner across multidisciplinary, multistakeholder projects in arts, music, creative, cultural, and TCLF sectors (textiles, clothing, leather, and footwear). She has almost 30 years experience in project scope, strategy, communication, finesse, large scale bidding and delivery, working with consortia, brands, trade bodies nationally and internationally.

Jayne is a specialist in asking the ‘difficult questions’ necessary for progress, getting to the heart of barriers and creating innovative solutions and delivery models. She is a champion for the solopreneur (freelance) economy and over the last decade has worked increasingly on sector wide, employer lead, vocational training strategies and delivery in the UK and EU.

David is a leading gambling, alcohol and entertainment licensing solicitor having worked exclusively in those sectors since 1996. He is a consulting editor to “Paterson’s Licensing Acts” and has been a member of Home Office Working Groups relating to the relevant legislation.

He acted as led facilitator for the Westminster After Dark Stakeholder assembly, ensuring the 50 participants in the assembly all had the opportunity for their voices to be heard and balancing the needs of different groups dealing with sometimes contentious issues.

David is a Director of the Institute of Licensing and Chairman of the East Midlands Region. He is also a member of the national Board of Best Bar None, Committee of National Pubwatch and the regional council of the BII.
