Providing a comprehensive evidence base to demonstrate how responsible late night operation can support safety, partnership working and the wider evening and night time economy in Leicester Square.
Six Till Six was commissioned by Capital Arches Group to prepare an independent Licensing Impact Assessment in support of an application to extend late night refreshment hours at McDonald’s Leicester Square, one of the busiest restaurants in the West End and a key part of Westminster’s evening and night time economy.
We undertook detailed overnight audits, reviewed licensing, crime and safety data, and assessed the premises’ operational controls, management practices and contribution to the wider area. The assessment considered the venue’s role within Westminster’s safety infrastructure, including its participation in initiatives such as Safe Havens, Night Stars, Best Bar None, My Local Bobby and Business Community Radio.
The report demonstrated how the premises contributes to the safe management of Leicester Square through investment in local partnerships, active participation in safety initiatives and a strong track record of responsible operation within Westminster’s Cumulative Impact Zone. It also examined the wider economic and social benefits associated with extending the venue’s operating hours.
The resulting Licensing Impact Assessment provided a comprehensive evidence base for the application, combining operational observations, policy analysis and specialist expertise in licensing and the night time economy to support informed decision making.
