Helping establish an innovative civil recovery scheme that gives licensed venues an additional tool to deter violence, support staff and create safer environments for everyone.
Six Till Six helped establish the Violence in Venues Agreement (VIVA), an innovative scheme designed to deter violence in licensed premises and support safer environments for staff, customers and businesses.
VIVA is a civil recovery scheme that places responsibility on perpetrators of violence rather than solely on venues and operators. The scheme enables participating businesses to recover costs associated with violent incidents, while providing an additional deterrent to violence and disorder within hospitality settings.
Working with operators, Business Improvement Districts, Pubwatch schemes and other partners, VIVA supports businesses in creating safer environments and demonstrating a proactive commitment to the prevention of violence. The scheme complements wider approaches to partnership working, venue management and community safety.
VIVA has been introduced in a growing number of locations across England and Wales, providing venues with an additional tool to reduce violence, support staff welfare and strengthen the safe management of the evening and night time economy.
