Developing the West Midlands’ first Night Time Economy Strategy to support growth, increase footfall and create a more vibrant, welcoming and sustainable Wolverhampton after dark.
Six Till Six and MAKE Associates were commissioned by the City of Wolverhampton Council to develop Wolverhampton’s Evening and Night Time Economy Strategy. The project focused on identifying opportunities to strengthen the city centre’s offer, support businesses and create a more welcoming and vibrant destination after dark.
Through stakeholder engagement, research, overnight audits and analysis of existing provision, we worked with local partners to understand the city’s strengths, challenges and aspirations. The project explored issues including safety, transport, culture, hospitality, place management and the overall visitor experience.
The strategy provides a framework for future action, helping local stakeholders work together to support economic growth, increase footfall and create a diverse and sustainable evening and night time economy for Wolverhampton. The Wolverhampton ENTE Strategy was the first Night Time Economy Strategy in the West Midlands and provided a framework for further NTE development including the establishment of the West Midlands NTE Commission.
